Radiolympia & Crown Top Kings

What a fantastic night last Friday turned out to be. Great Birchwood hosted its first ever 1930's 40's re enactment night. The entertainment was laid on by Radiolympia. A DJ who played music of the 1930's 40's through some old mono speaker which really made you feel like you had gone back in time.
If the music didn't make you feel like you had been for a trip in Dr Who's tardis then the way people were dressed would of done. Plenty of people got into the sprit and came dressed to look the part. Special mention has to go to Jan Platt who really did look like she was from that time. Poor Darren didn't recognize her at first she looked that different. Also I would like to say well done to the regulars not only for dressing up and getting behind the event but also for welcoming and mingling with the people that go to these re enactments regular. I am sure there will be another one of these events soon at Fort San Antone.
Saturday night we saw the return to the Great Birchwood stage of the Crown Top Kings. Now I am sure you dont need me to tell you how good these boys are. Also within keeping of the whole weekend really they are western swing playing music that is also from the 1930's just country and rock and roll style.
